1.  Join the Network

Any individual or organization committed to reducing the toll tobacco takes on our state and its residents is more than welcome to join the Network.  By joining the Network, you will be joining hundreds of other South Dakotans committed to reducing the burden tobacco places on South Dakota families.  LEARN MORE...

Quitting reduces your risk of lung cancer by 30-50% after 10 years of abstinence. The longer you stay quit, the lower the risk.

2.  Contacting Lawmakers

The most effective way to make tobacco prevention a priority for South Dakota is to contact your lawmakers and let them know tobacco issues are a top priority for you, a voting constituent. Your calls, letters and faxes can make the difference in the vote on tobacco issues in South Dakota and nationally.  LEARN MORE...

3.  Writing a Letter to the Editor

A letter to the editor is one of the best ways to get an unfiltered message about a particular issue out to the community. The best letters are generally brief, to the point, and in response to a previously written article, or other current issue. You can usually find the address to send your letter to the editor on the editorial page of the paper and many newspapers also recommend that you send your letter by fax or E-mail.  LEARN MORE...
